This morning at Desert Wind Harley Davidson in Arizona, Tom Felten was reunited with his stolen motorcycle after three years.”I think it looks pretty good considering it’s been gone for three years,” he said.Local station KNXV met a heartbroken Felten back in 2021, just days after his motorcycle was stolen from a local garage.But this wasn’t just any motorcycle.At the time, he was part of the Patriot Guard, a group of veterans that escort the bodies of fallen soldiers to their final resting place.”The least I can do is take these fallen guys and make sure they get a proper burial,” Felten said.He shared pictures of the missing bike and his license plate, hoping someone would spot it.While the bike didn’t turn up, the community’s compassion for the Navy veteran certainly did.”Everybody just loves him,” his daughter Tracey said.A GoFundMe campaign raised thousands of dollars to get Tom a new bike, allowing him to continue his mission.Then last month, after three years, Tom got a call from the police.”He says I got your motorcycle, and I laughed. I said sure, after three years you’ve got my motorcycle, is this a joke or what,” Felten recalled.It was no joke.A local man purchased the bike from a stranger without a title, and when he went to register it at the MVD, it was flagged as stolen.”Never thought for a minute that I’d get to see this bike again,” Felten said.Oh, and that donated money of $3,500? He knew just what to do with it.”His first reaction is I can’t keep that money, it’s not mine so I’m gonna do something good with it,” Tracey said.”I took that money and gave it to the American Legion,” Felten said.It’s certainly been a winding road to this point, but one that turns out to be well worth the wait.
