Xuất hiện mẫu laptop Surface Prototype với vi xử lý Intel Lunar Lake trên mạng

Một mẫu Surface Laptop được cho là sử dụng một trong những chip Intel mới Lunar Lake đã được đưa lên bán online.

Windows Central  phát hiện mục đích xóa trên Goofish, một thị trường trực tuyến của Trung Quốc. Các hình ảnh trong danh sách cho thấy nó giống rất nhiều với Surface Laptop 7 mà Microsoft phát hành vào đầu năm nay với chip Snapdragon X Elite của Qualcomm. (Tôi chưa có cơ hội xem xét về dòng Surface Laptop, nhưng tôi đã viết về Surface Pro mới với Snapdragon X Elite, bạn có thể xem ở đây.) Tuy nhiên, mẫu nguyên tưởng trên Goofish sử dụng chip Intel Core Ultra 7 268V.

Thật không may, không rõ rằng đây thực sự là phiên bản Surface Laptop 7 với chip Intel hay là một mẫu nguyên tưởng của một phiên bản mới của Surface Laptop. Laptop có in “nguyên tưởng – không bán” ở dưới đáy. Như The Verge  lưu ý, dễ dàng giả một danh sách chip CPU trong Windows, nhưng nhãn in cho thấy có vẻ đây là một mẫu thực sự.

Nơi khác, danh sách ghi chú rằng Surface Laptop Intel có thể được bán vào năm 2025, có thể chỉ ra một thông báo tại CES.

Với Microsoft sẽ ra mắt các dòng laptop Surface sử dụng chip Intel, đặc biệt khi nhà sản xuất chip đã có các tùy chọn đáp ứng các tiêu chí cho Pc Copilot Plus. Dù Snapdragon X Elite tốt thế nào, Windows on ARM vẫn còn vấn đề và đối với một số người, chip x86 vẫn đáng giá.

Microsoft trước đó đã phát hành Surface Pro 10 và Laptop 6 sử dụng chip Meteor Lake của Intel, dành cho doanh nghiệp, trước khi ra mắt Copilot Plus mới Surface Pro và Laptop. Tuy nhiên, các thiết bị đó không hỗ trợ các tính năng mới Copilot Plus vì Neural Processing Unit (NPU) Meteor Lake không đáp ứng tiêu chí của Microsoft.

Có lẽ, rõ ràng là Microsoft sẽ ra mắt các thiết bị Surface sử dụng chip Intel trong tương lai gần, dựa trên mẫu nguyên tưởng này. Nếu có Surface Laptop, có lẽ sẽ có Surface Pro trên đường tới. Điều còn hỏi là liệu phiên bản Intel sẽ phổ biến hoặc giới hạn cho doanh nghiệp như các phiên bản Surface trước đây dùng Intel. Hơn nữa, vẫn cần xem xét liệu đây là một phiên bản mới của Surface Laptop hay chỉ là một biến thể của mẫu mới nhất với bên trong mới.

A prototype Surface Laptop allegedly sporting one of Intel’s new Lunar Lake chips was put up for sale online.

Windows Central spotted the since-deleted listing on Goofish, a Chinese second-hand marketplace. The images in the listing show what looks a lot like the Surface Laptop 7 that Microsoft released earlier this year sporting Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite chips. (I haven’t had a chance to review the Surface Laptop yet, but I did write about the new Surface Pro with the Snapdragon X Elite, which you can check out here.) However, the prototype on Goofish features Intel’s Core Ultra 7 268V chip.

Unfortunately, it’s not entirely clear whether this is actually a Surface Laptop 7 variant with an Intel chip or a prototype of a new version of the Surface Laptop. The laptop does sport “prototype – not for sale” etched on the bottom. As The Verge notes, it’s easy to fake a CPU listing in Windows, but the etched label suggests this is likely a real prototype.

Elsewhere, the listing noted that the Intel Surface Laptop could go on sale in 2025, potentially pointing to an announcement at CES.

It’d make sense for Microsoft to launch Intel-equipped Surface laptops, especially now that the chipmaker has options that meet the criteria for Copilot Plus PCs. As good as the Snapdragon X Elite is, Windows on ARM still has its issues and for some people, x86 chips remain king.

Microsoft previously released the Surface Pro 10 and Laptop 6 sporting Intel’s Meteor Lake chips, aimed at businesses, ahead of the new Copilot Plus Surface Pro and Laptop. However, those devices don’t support new Copilot Plus features because the Meteor Lake neural processing unit (NPU) doesn’t meet Microsoft’s criteria.

Ultimately, it seems likely that Microsoft will launch Intel-equipped Surface devices in the near future, judging by this prototype. If there’s a Surface Laptop, there’s likely a Surface Pro on the way as well. What remains to be seen is whether the Intel version will be widely available or limited to businesses like previously Intel-based Surfaces. Moreover, it remains to be seen whether this is a new version of the Surface Laptop or just a variant of the latest model with new internals.
