Apple bị phạt 1,29L vì không cung cấp AirPods kèm theo bán iPhone tại AP
Hyderabad: Quyết định mới đây của Ủy ban Người tiêu dùng Kakinada đã khiến Apple phải đối mặt với một mức phạt tổng cộng là 1,29,900 Rs do một khiếu nại về việc không giao AirPods như đã hứa kèm theo mua iPhone.
Người khiếu nại, Chandalada Padma Raju, đã đặt mua một chiếc iPhone của Apple vào ngày 13 tháng 10 năm 2021 từ Apple Distribution International ở Ireland.
Việc mua hàng được thực hiện dưới hình thức khuyến mãi bao gồm việc tặng AirPods miễn phí kèm theo một hộp sạc trị giá 14,900 Rs. Tuy nhiên, khi nhận được iPhone, Padma Raju phát hiện rằng AirPods không được kèm theo.
Mặc dù đã cố gắng giải quyết vấn đề thông qua dịch vụ khách hàng của Apple nhiều lần, cô không nhận được sự giúp đỡ nào.
Bực bội vì thiếu phản hồi, Padma Raju đã gửi khiếu nại đến Ủy ban Người tiêu dùng Kakinada vào ngày 15 tháng 2 năm 2024.
Một mức phạt 10,000 Rs vì cực kỳ khó chịu
Sau khi xem xét vụ việc, Ủy ban đã ra quyết định thuận lợi cho Padma Raju và yêu cầu Apple thực hiện một số biện pháp. Apple đã được yêu cầu hoặc giao AirPods với hộp sạc trị giá 14,900 Rs hoặc trả trực tiếp 14,900 Rs cho người khiếu nại.
Ngoài ra, Ủy ban yêu cầu Apple phải thanh toán thêm 10,000 Rs vì sự khó chịu tinh thần và căng thẳng vật lý gây ra cho người khiếu nại do Apple không thực hiện giao sản phẩm đã hứa.
Một mức phạt 5,000 Rs cũng được áp đặt để bù đắp các chi phí mà Padma Raju đã phải chịu trong quá trình khiếu nại.
Một mức phạt 1L Rs vì quảng cáo mê muội
Phát ngôn lo ngại về các phương pháp quảng cáo mê muội của các công ty, Ủy ban đã áp đặt một mức phạt trừng phạt là 1 lakh Rs để trả vào Quỹ Cứu trợ Chính phủ Andhra Pradesh.
Biện pháp này nhằm mục đích ngăn chặn hành vi tương tự của các công ty trong tương lai.

Hyderabad: A recent ruling by the Kakinada Consumer Commission has resulted in Apple facing a total fine of Rs 1,29,900 due to a complaint regarding the non-delivery of promised AirPods with an iPhone purchase.
The complainant, Chandalada Padma Raju, ordered an Apple iPhone on October 13, 2021, from Apple Distribution International in Ireland.
The purchase was made under a promotional offer that included free AirPods with a charging case valued at Rs 14,900. However, upon receiving the iPhone, Padma Raju found that the AirPods were not included.
Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue through Apple’s customer service, she received no assistance.
Frustrated by the lack of response, Padma Raju filed a complaint with the Kakinada Consumer Commission on February 15, 2024.
Rs 10000 fine for mental agony
After examining the case, the Commission ruled in favour of Padma Raju and directed Apple to take several actions. Apple was ordered to either deliver the AirPods with a charging case worth Rs 14,900 or pay Rs 14,900 directly to the complainant.
Additionally, the Commission mandated an extra payment of Rs 10,000 for mental agony and physical strain caused to the complainant by Apple’s failure to deliver the promised product.
A fine of Rs 5,000 was also imposed to cover the costs incurred by Padma Raju in pursuing her complaint.
Rs 1L fine for misleading advertisement
Expressing concern over misleading advertising practices among corporations, the Commission levied a punitive fine of Rs 1 lakh to be paid to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Relief Fund.
This measure aims to deter similar misconduct by companies in the future.
