BARBARA. WELL, JERRY AND SUSAN, THERE WAS SURVEILLANCE VIDEO AS WELL AS RING DOORBELL, CAMERA VIDEO HERE AT THE HILLSIDE APARTMENT COMPLEX IN DOWNTOWN LANCASTER. THEY CAPTURED THE THIEVES TAKING THE PACKAGES FROM DOORSTEPS AND PORCHES IN THIS AREA, AS WELL AS OUTSIDE THE CITY. FOR THAT MATTER. AND THE VICTIMS BELIEVE THAT THEY FOLLOWED A FEDEX TRUCK. AND THEN ONCE THE DELIVERY WAS MADE, THEY SWOOPED IN TO TAKE THESE PACKAGES. NOW WE’VE GOT RING DOORBELL VIDEO FROM A RESIDENT HERE ON CHESTER STREET. BASICALLY, WHAT IT SHOWS IS THE SUSPECT WEARING A DARK COLORED HOODIE, GREEN SWEATPANTS WITH A WHITE STRIPE DOWN THE SIDE, TAKING A PACKAGE FROM BETWEEN THE DOORS OF HIS HOME. THAT HAPPENED MONDAY AFTERNOON. NOW THE PACKAGE, HE SAYS, CONTAINED TWO APPLE WATCHES CAMERAS AT THE SAME COMPLEX CAUGHT OTHER THEFTS THERE. A BLOCK OR TWO AWAY, AND THEY HAPPENED MINUTES AFTER A DELIVERY PERSON FROM FEDEX DROPPED THEM OFF. NOW, WE TALKED WITH THE VICTIM WHO CONTACTED POLICE AND IS GETTING THE STOLEN ITEMS REPLACED. I THINK IT’S VERY AUDACIOUS. THERE WAS SOMEONE HOME, BUT THEY DIDN’T MAKE IT TO THE DOOR IN TIME. I’M JUST HAPPY THAT THEY DIDN’T MAKE IT TO THE DOOR WHEN THE PERSON WAS HERE TO TAKE THE DEVICES. NOW THIS IS RING DOORBELL VIDEO, TAKEN IN WEST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AS WELL, A SUSPECT MATCHING THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PERSON IN LANCASTER CITY WAS SEEN TAKING A PACKAGE CONTAINING AN APPLE IPHONE THERE, THEN DRIVING OFF IN A BLACK SEDAN. THAT RESIDENT SAYS A NEIGHBOR SAW IT ALL HAPPEN RIGHT AFTER THE DELIVERY. AND OF COURSE, POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THESE THEFTS. AND THEY THE VICTIMS SAY THE CAMERAS HERE ACTUALLY CAUGHT THAT DARK COLORED SEDAN LEAVING HERE AS WELL, POTENTIALLY WITH A NEW JERSEY LICEN

Residents in Lancaster city and county report seeing thefts of packages moments after they were delivered.Ring doorbell video captured a suspect dressed in a dark hoodie and green sweatpants with a white stripe down the side swiping packages containing Apple iPhones and watches from porches on Monday afternoon.Eliud Diaz called the thefts “audacious.” He had two Apple watches stolen from his home in a complex on Chester Street in Lancaster City. He said other residents reported similar thefts moments after a FedEx delivery person dropped off packages. Diaz said cameras caught a dark-colored sedan leaving with what appeared to be a New Jersey license plate.A resident of West Lampeter Township also shared Ring doorbell camera footage showing a person in a similar outfit taking her package containing a new iPhone from her doorstep moments after it had been delivered. Her video showed a dark-colored car leaving. Diaz said police have been notified.”My hope is that they catch the individual.
