#LouderThanLife2024 #Gojira #ParisOlympicsOpeningCeremony #MetalMusic #RockFestival
Gojira, a French metal band, slayed the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony on Friday.
The quartet performed “Ah! Ça Ira,” a song popular during the French Revolution, outside the Conciergerie, next to dozens of headless figures of Queen Marie Antoinette. The Conciergerie is a former prison and residence of French kings during the French Revolution and is where Antoinette was held before she was beheaded in 1793.
The band, made up of Joe Duplantier, Mario Duplantier, Christian Andreu and Jean-Michel La- badie, was joined by Opera singer Marina Viotti for a musical set full of spectacle and mayhem.
If you loved the performance, you can see the band in person when it performs on Sunday, Sept. 29 during Louder Than Life at the Highlands Festival Grounds in Louisville, Kentucky.
