Hãng âm thanh hàng đầu Sennheiser sắp “làm chuyển động” trên thị trường tai nghe chống tiếng ồn bằng việc giới thiệu mẫu tai nghe mới giá rẻ hơn được đặt tên là ACCENTUM. Sharing much of the best technological DNA used in Sennheiser’s award-winning MOMENTUM 4 headphones, the new ACCENTUM headphones offer premium sound at a budget price.

With Sennheiser sound quality and some of the hybrid active noise canceling technology used in the more expensive MOMENTUM 4 headphones, the new ACCENTUM use custom 37mm dynamic transducers that Sennheiser has tuned to provide a good balance between deep bass performance and clarity in the upper registers.
Sennheiser says the acoustics of the ACCENTUM have been optimized for the best possible ANC performance, reducing unwanted sounds from the outside world by using a combination of passive isolation and dual microphones that target both low and high frequencies.
The ACCENTUM headphones use Bluetooth 5.2 and offer Multipoint connectivity so that two devices can be connected to the headphones at the same time. Sennheiser has included the aptX HD audio codec, delivering the sound you might expect to get with wired headphones. For users of Apple iPhones, Sennheiser has also added support for the AAC codec, as Apple doesn’t currently support any apt X codecs on iOS devices.
The new Sennheiser ACCENTUM headphones will be available in black or white with sandstone accents.
A full charge of the ACCENTUM battery can deliver up to 50 hours of playtime, while a quick 10-minute burst charge will provide up to 5 hours of listening time, not much more time than it takes to make a proper cup of coffee.
Another unusual feature at this price point is the inclusion of a USB-C charging cable that can also be used to plug into the USB-C port on a phone or computer, which turns the ACCENTUM into a pair of wired headphones, a handy backup of the headphone battery charge is exhausted. However, it is worth pointing out that there is no conventional analog cable for plugging the headphones into a 3.5mm jack.
Two microphones are built into the ACCENTUM headphones, and Sennheiser has added a wind-reduction mode that makes taking voice calls a breeze outdoors. There’s also an adjustable side-tone level to hear yourself speak on voice or video calls. Advanced signal processing minimizes background distractions.
The inclusion of Multipoint connectivity makes it easy to switch seamlessly between something like a personal and business phone. You can listen to music on one device and then switch to the other to take a phone call without the need to repair the device.
The ACCENTUM has four buttons for controlling the headphones and switching ANC modes. There’s also Sennheiser’s Smart Control smartphone app for Android and iOS devices that can customize the headphones. The app includes a 5-band graphic equalizer with an easy-to-use interface. The Smart Control app can store user presets and apply any firmware updates Sennheiser releases.
It’s worth pointing out that the ACCENTUM don’t have a foldable design like many headphones designed for air travel. Also, no travel case is supplied, so if you want a pair of headphones that fold up small and have a protective case, you may look elsewhere. The ACCENTUM are very comfortable. I would go as far as to say they rival Sony’s WH-1000XM5 ANC headphones or the Bose Quiet Comfort 45 for wearability. The earcups and headband adjust to the shape of the wearer’s head with a clamping force that isn’t too fierce. These are probably the lightest and most comfortable ANC headphones that Sennheiser has made.

The sound produced by the ACCENTUM’s 37mm dynamic drivers is pure Sennheiser. The bass is big and bold but without swamping the midrange, which is wonderfully clear. The bass and midrange complement the treble frequencies perfectly. These headphones sound more expensive than they are and they may even impact sales of Sennheiser’s more expensive MOMENTUM 4 ANC.
One thing I did notice is that it’s not possible to turn off the ANC function. You can either have ANC on all the time or switch to Transparent mode, which mixes some of the outside sounds picked up by the two microphones and feeds them into the mix. There is no way of turning off ANC entirely… yet. That might be something that comes later in a firmware update if there is demand for it
As for the ANC function, its noise-canceling efficiency may not be quite up there with the best that Sony or Bose offers, but it’s not far off. Perhaps the overall performance is impacted by the fact there are only two microphones onboard.
Verdict: Sennheiser has made a great pair of affordable ANC headphones, which do a great job of canceling unwanted noise when traveling or working in a noisy environment. The sound quality is pure Sennheiser and offers a lot of bang for your buck. If you’re looking for a premium and branded pair of over-the-ear ANC headphones, the Sennheiser ACCENTUM is a solid choice for the money.
