Apple is expected to launch M4-powered MacBook Pro models next month. Now, the packaging of an Apple product has been leaked online which is likely to be of the upcoming MacBook Pro. The alleged package has also revealed some of the details about the Apple laptop. A tipster named ShrimpApplePro has shared a picture of the leaked packaging which is claimed to be of a MacBook Pro model which is expected to come powered by Apple’s M4 processors which is yet to be announced by the Cupertino-based tech giant.

While sharing the picture, the tipster wrote: “M4 14-inch Macbook Pro? Not confirmed, take it with a pin of salt. I got sent this.”
Apple M4 MacBook Pro: What to expect
In a post on social media platform X (earlier Twitter), the tipster notes that the M4-powered MacBook Pro model may have a 14-inch screen and may pack 16GB RAM as well as 512GB storage. Previous rumours also suggested that all M4 Mac models will start with at least 16GB of RAM. The leaked packaging seems to align with the older leaks.
Moreover, the packaging also claims that the base model M4 MacBook Pro will have a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU which was also suggested by previous reports. The existing M3 chip has an 8 core CPU and 10-core GPU.
Apart from this, the packaging also promises that the upcoming model will have three Thunderbolt 4 ports, unlike the existing M3-powered MacBook Pro. It’s important to note that the current base model MacBook Pro only has two Thunderbolt ports.
One of the lines on the packaging also seems to say “SPB/10C CPU/10C GPU/16GB/512GB” which lists out the specs. This suggests that Apple may be switching things up with its base MacBook Pro colour options.
Instead of the usual Space Gray, it seems like Space Black may be the new default, according to the “SPB” abbreviation on packaging. This suggests that silver models will remain marked as “SLV.” It’s a subtle but potentially significant change for those who prefer a darker shade.
One of the users who saw the post also noticed a QR code on the packaging, directing users to learn more about the MacBook. This is a practice Apple introduced recently with the iPhone 16 lineup, suggesting potential changes in how they present product information.
