Niantic announced today that it’s rolling out multiple new features for mobile AR title Monster Hunter Now. One of these is a new collaboration with YouTube creator Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson which rolls out for the summer. In addition, users can now initiate hunts with others around the globe via a new Dimensional Link feature. The MrBeast collaboration begins on July 27, while the new features update launches later today.
As part of the MrBeast team-up, players can get an exclusive armor set, weapon and other cosmetics inspired by the content creator. They can also play a MrBeast-themed quest. Donaldson said in a statement about the collaboration: “Monster Hunter Now is super fun and also encourages people to go outside, explore, and get active. Working with Niantic on my very own Monster Hunter Now quest line has been fantastic. I love that they partner with creators and trust them to know how to reach their audience.”
The major update to Monster Hunter Now’s gameplay is the addition of the Dimensional Link feature, which offers users around the world the chance to team up to fight certain monsters. Players initiate combat against those monsters, and are given the option to pair up with other hunters around the world.
Archit Bhargava, Niantic’s senior director of product marketing, added, “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Jimmy and the MrBeast team to bring a unique quest line and MrBeast content to Monster Hunter Now. We’re constantly looking to bring exciting and fresh content to the game, and this collaboration is something that appeals both to veteran players and new players alike. With more than 15 million downloads globally, we know our community is enjoying hunting monsters on the go. Now it will be even easier to get outside and hunt together with players from around the world.”
